Rossum alternative
A Rossum alternative for document extraction and review
Choose how much of the document workflow you want one platform to own.
Rossum combines document capture with validation, business rules and workflow automation. Dynamite Docs focuses on extracting fields and tables, checking them beside the source and handing the result to your existing tools.
The choice depends on what happens after extraction. If a reviewer needs a checked spreadsheet, test that handoff first. If the project also needs master-data matching, exception communication and enterprise workflow controls, include those requirements in the evaluation.
Test your document. Review a real file before choosing a plan. Check the source, the rows and the exported result.

Choose by the work you need to finish
The fit judgments below are our assessment of the published capabilities. Validate them with your own documents and required integrations.
Keep a spreadsheet or application as the destination
Dynamite Docs fits a reviewer who needs invoice lines, statement transactions or custom document fields in a consistent output. Keep the downstream rules in the system that already owns them.
Evaluate a broader workflow with Rossum
Rossum publishes validation, master-data matching, duplicate handling and mailbox automation capabilities across its plans. Ask which package covers your required workflow.

Run a comparison with your own files
- 1. Separate capture from workflow requirements. List the required invoice fields separately from approval, matching and supplier communication rules. Mark which system owns each action today.
- 2. Include exceptions in the sample. Try an invoice with a missing PO number, a multi-page table and a duplicate submission. Record where a reviewer or downstream system must intervene.
- 3. Time the complete handoff. Measure correction and import effort as well as extraction time. Use the same files and required fields in both evaluations.
Choose the model route separately
Dynamite Docs supports hosted processing and your own provider API keys on every plan. Hobby, Pro and Ultra can also use the local Ollama companion. Keep the same review workspace while evaluating the model that handles your files best.
Each successfully processed hosted page costs one PE. Free and Hobby provider-key runs use the monthly PE allowance; Pro and Ultra provider-key runs cost zero PE. Your provider may bill you separately. Provider and file-size limits still apply.
- Hosted: Start with the processing allowance in your plan.
- Provider key: Connect your own AI provider account and use its models.
- Local Ollama: Run model inference on your computer with the paid-plan companion.
- Custom endpoint: Connect a compatible model endpoint to the same review flow.
Compare hosted, own-key, custom and local AI routes.
Plan for the workflow you keep
Replacing capture does not automatically replace the controls around it. Identify the owner of each step before switching.
- Dynamite Docs does not execute invoice approvals or PO matching.
- Supplier communications and ERP posting need your existing process or a separate integration.
- Do not assume a Rossum queue, custom function or validation rule can be imported into Dynamite Docs.
Questions about rossum alternative
Is Dynamite Docs cheaper than Rossum?
The published entry prices differ, but the scopes differ too. Compare your document volume, review effort, required integrations and implementation work. A lower subscription price alone does not establish a lower total cost.
Does Rossum already support human review?
Yes. Its pricing page includes a validation screen in Starter. Evaluate the actual review task in both products instead of treating human review as exclusive to either one.
