Decide whether you need extraction infrastructure or a place to finish the review.

Extend documents schema-based extraction with confidence scores and citations. Its extraction flow uses parsing underneath. Dynamite Docs offers a workspace for checking extracted values and exporting results. The comparison turns on who owns the application and the review process around the extraction.

An engineering team may value evaluation tools and a configurable document pipeline. A finance reviewer may first need a consistent spreadsheet with the source at hand. Start with that deliverable, then include the integrations and recovery steps required to make it repeatable.

Test your document. Review a real file before choosing a plan. Check the source, the rows and the exported result.

Choose by the work you need to finish

The fit judgments below are our assessment of the published capabilities. Validate them with your own documents and required integrations.

Finish a review and export task

Evaluate Dynamite Docs for a person who needs to inspect the original file, correct rows and hand the result to a spreadsheet or an existing system. Try the actual export formats.

Operate an extraction pipeline

Evaluate Extend for schema extraction inside a product or workflow. Its pricing lists Studio and Evals alongside document operations. Include that tooling in the trial if your team will maintain the pipeline.

Compare price, usage units and included work

USD pricing as of October 9, 2026. Monthly and annual billing are shown separately. A page, document credit and workflow block are different units. These entry plans do not establish equivalent capacity or total cost.

Dynamite DocsFree 28-day trial; Starter $13/month or $130/year, billed once every 12 months100 monthly PE on Starter; 25 monthly PE during the free trialCSV, JSON, XLSX downloads on Free. Starter adds 500 MB storage, Google integrations, API and webhooks. Provider charges are separate for BYOK.

Check all Dynamite Docs prices and limits. Successfully processed hosted and local no-AI pages use one PE each; failed pages cost zero. Free and Starter own-key runs use the same allowance; Pro and Ultra own-key runs cost zero PE. Monthly caps are hard. Provider and file-size limits still apply.

Plan a migration test before switching

Evaluate the change process as well as the first result

Prepare a small reference set containing both stable layouts and one unfamiliar layout. Write the required field names, data types and repeated-row structure before either trial. Save the checked reference outside the extraction tool so you can identify a regression after a schema or instruction changes.

Then introduce a deliberate change: an optional field becomes required or the destination needs a separate tax column. Update the extraction configuration and repeat the full reference set. Record how much work is needed to find the affected records, correct them and preserve the contract expected by the destination.

Prove delivery and exception ownership

Send the result through the same receiving application that production will use. Include an invalid value, an empty required field and a repeated submission. Decide whether the reviewer corrects the source result, the exported file or a downstream record. Keep that decision consistent so a retry cannot silently overwrite a reviewed value.

Compare the complete billable sequence rather than multiplying the entry credit rate by an assumed page count. Include any preparation, review, workflow and deployment requirements in the purchase scope. Retain the previous configuration and a rollback plan until the new path meets the agreed acceptance checks.

Run a comparison with your own files

  1. 1. Define the schema before the test. Use required fields, a repeated line-item table and an optional section. Set the expected behavior for blanks and absent sections. Compare the usable records, not only whether an API request succeeded.
  2. 2. Exercise a schema change. Add a new supplier layout and change a destination column. Track how each workflow is updated and how existing consumers stay compatible during the change. Include review time in the result.
  3. 3. Reconcile the credit estimate. Run the entire sequence you intend to deploy, including splitting or classification when needed. Save the measured usage and ask which operations are charged again during a retry.

Choose the model account for your extraction workflow

Use included hosted processing, connect your own AI provider keys, or run model inference through the Ollama companion on Hobby, Pro and Ultra. Compare provider terms, model quality and the complete data path for the documents you process.

Each successfully processed hosted page costs one PE. Free and Hobby provider-key runs use the monthly PE allowance; Pro and Ultra provider-key runs cost zero PE. Your provider bills your account directly with zero markup.

Local Ollama inference runs on your computer; account and workspace features remain hosted.

  • Hosted: Predictable allowances with hard caps and no surprise overages.
  • Provider key (BYOK): Connect your own AI account for unlimited runs on Pro and Ultra.
  • Local Ollama: Run model inference on your computer. Account and workspace features remain hosted.
  • Custom endpoint: Connect any OpenAI-compatible model endpoint to the same review flow.

Compare hosted, own-key, custom and local AI routes.

Plan the application around the extraction

Choose who owns the schema, review interface and exception queue before switching.

  • Dynamite Docs does not import Extend workflows, evaluation sets or API contracts.
  • Credits are not automatically equivalent to pages; verify the complete operation sequence.
  • Customer-cloud deployment and local model inference describe different data boundaries.

How we maintain this comparison

Written and maintained by the Dynamite Docs team. We sell one of the products compared here. Fit recommendations are our assessment, not an independent ranking.

We reviewed the linked vendor product and pricing pages on October 9, 2026. Dynamite Docs allowances and capabilities come from our current plan definitions. We have not run a shared head-to-head accuracy, speed or cost benchmark.

Compare extraction, review, intake, delivery, deployment and total cost separately. A feature that we could not confirm remains unconfirmed. Vendor statements describe published capabilities, not results we have reproduced.

Check the quoted plan and implementation scope before purchase. We review these comparisons quarterly, with the next review due January 9, 2027, or earlier after a material product or pricing change.

Questions about extend alternative

Does Extend support structured extraction?

Yes. Its extraction documentation describes schemas, confidence and citations. The useful comparison is how that output enters your application and how reviewers resolve exceptions.

Does the free credit allowance recur monthly?

The reviewed pricing page describes 10,000 introductory credits for pay as you go. Treat them as an introductory allowance unless your agreement explicitly says otherwise.
