Compare the same source and review rules. Illustrative workflow.

Compare the complete LLM extraction workflow and the edition you need to operate.

Unstract offers LLM-based extraction workflows across managed, enterprise and open-source editions. Its edition comparison includes external model providers and distinguishes commercial review features from the open-source offering. Dynamite Docs also supports your own provider keys, so model-account choice alone does not settle the comparison.

Start with the workflow a person or application must finish. A team maintaining prompt-based pipelines may prefer configurable platform infrastructure. A reviewer preparing checked fields and rows may first need a workspace with a straightforward export. Include deployment and operating responsibilities in the same evaluation.

Test your document. Review a real file before choosing a plan. Check the source, the rows and the exported result.

Choose by the work you need to finish

The fit judgments below are our assessment of the published capabilities. Validate them with your own documents and required integrations.

Finish source review and export

Evaluate Dynamite Docs when the immediate task is checking extracted fields and rows before handoff. Use provider keys where you need your own model account.

Operate a configurable LLM pipeline

Evaluate the appropriate Unstract edition when your team needs workflow configuration or a particular deployment model. Compare the commercial and open-source feature sets directly.

Compare price, usage units and included work

USD pricing as of October 9, 2026. Monthly and annual billing are shown separately. A page, document credit and workflow block are different units. These entry plans do not establish equivalent capacity or total cost.

Check all Dynamite Docs prices and limits. Successfully processed hosted and local no-AI pages use one PE each; failed pages cost zero. Free and Starter own-key runs use the same allowance; Pro and Ultra own-key runs cost zero PE. Monthly caps are hard. Provider and file-size limits still apply.

Plan a migration test before switching

Compare the actual deployment responsibility

Start by specifying where documents, model requests, extracted data and reviewer decisions must be stored or processed. A requirement for local model execution differs from a requirement to operate the whole platform in your own environment. Ask each vendor to confirm the data path for the package you are evaluating.

For a self-managed option, assign owners for installation, updates, authentication, backups and recovery. For a managed option, confirm retention and access requirements. Keep these operating tasks in the comparison so a lower software charge does not conceal work your team must take on.

Preserve the extraction and review contract

Prepare a checked reference set with repeated sections, missing optional fields and one conflicting value. Record the provider, model and configuration used for each run. Count incorrect values and review time, then test the real handoff into a sandbox destination with a correction and a duplicate submission.

List prompts, schemas, transforms and delivery steps that must be recreated before a switch. There is no automatic Unstract workflow importer in Dynamite Docs. Compare platform usage, external provider charges and the operating effort for the selected edition, then retain a rollback path until the replacement meets the reference checks.

Run a comparison with your own files

  1. 1. Choose the edition and full workflow. Write down the deployment requirement and each operation the process needs. Include review and provider calls. Compare the selected platform edition rather than substituting a parser-only price.
  2. 2. Test prompts on varied layouts. Use common layouts and one unfamiliar example. Check missing values, repeated sections and contradictory source content against a reference. Track configuration changes and review work needed to handle the exceptions.
  3. 3. Include model and operating costs. Record provider usage as well as platform usage. For a self-managed deployment, assign responsibility for updates, access control, backup and recovery before comparing recurring costs.

Choose the model account for your extraction workflow

Use included hosted processing, connect your own AI provider keys, or run model inference through the Ollama companion on Hobby, Pro and Ultra. Compare provider terms, model quality and the complete data path for the documents you process.

Each successfully processed hosted page costs one PE. Free and Hobby provider-key runs use the monthly PE allowance; Pro and Ultra provider-key runs cost zero PE. Your provider bills your account directly with zero markup.

Local Ollama inference runs on your computer; account and workspace features remain hosted.

  • Hosted: Predictable allowances with hard caps and no surprise overages.
  • Provider key (BYOK): Connect your own AI account for unlimited runs on Pro and Ultra.
  • Local Ollama: Run model inference on your computer. Account and workspace features remain hosted.
  • Custom endpoint: Connect any OpenAI-compatible model endpoint to the same review flow.

Compare hosted, own-key, custom and local AI routes.

Distinguish platform, parser and deployment

Choose the complete product and edition required by the task.

  • Unstract platform pricing and LLMWhisperer parsing prices cover different services.
  • Open-source availability does not imply that every commercial feature is included.
  • Dynamite Docs local inference does not replace a complete self-hosted platform.

How we maintain this comparison

Written and maintained by the Dynamite Docs team. We sell one of the products compared here. Fit recommendations are our assessment, not an independent ranking.

We reviewed the linked vendor product and pricing pages on October 9, 2026. Dynamite Docs allowances and capabilities come from our current plan definitions. We have not run a shared head-to-head accuracy, speed or cost benchmark.

Compare extraction, review, intake, delivery, deployment and total cost separately. A feature that we could not confirm remains unconfirmed. Vendor statements describe published capabilities, not results we have reproduced.

Check the quoted plan and implementation scope before purchase. We review these comparisons quarterly, with the next review due January 9, 2027, or earlier after a material product or pricing change.

Questions about unstract alternative

Is BYOK unique to Dynamite Docs?

No. Unstract publishes integrations with external model providers. Compare supported models, data paths, review and usage rules instead of treating provider keys as exclusive to either product.

Is Unstract the same product as LLMWhisperer?

LLMWhisperer is a separately priced document-parsing offering. Use the platform price when evaluating a complete extraction workflow and confirm which services your implementation needs.
