How pages and provider charges work

One successfully processed hosted or local no-AI page uses one page equivalent, or PE. Failed pages use zero PE.

Own-key processing uses the same PE allowance on Free and Starter. Pro and Scale own-key runs use zero PE. Your AI provider bills its usage separately.

Where the time goes

What raw OCR and AI chat tools leave unfinished.

Raw OCR returns recognized text without a reviewed table. A chat answer is difficult to reuse across files. Neither gives you source-linked cell review, saved corrections, batch jobs, and controlled exports in one workflow.

Notebooks 2 6.00 12.00
Pens 4 2.00 8.00
TOTAL 20.00

Which values belong in which columns?

Recognized text still needs named fields, separate rows and a source check.

Raw OCR gives you messy text, not structured data.

A wall of recognized text still leaves someone manually teasing apart headers, tax breakdowns, line items and totals into separate columns.

A fixed zone

Invoice v2

Previous total position

New total position · $20.00

A moved label can fall outside a fixed extraction zone.

Coordinate templates need maintenance when layouts change.

A moved label, added column, or revised header can invalidate fixed zones and parsing rules. Each supplier variation then needs another template update.

Separate the line items.
Prepare the export.

A proposed answer still needs a source check and a reusable table.

A chat response is not a review and export workflow.

A chat can answer a document question, but it does not keep the source beside editable table rows, manage batch jobs, or deliver a reviewed result through Sheets and webhooks.

Built for the second document

Correct it once. Dynamite Docs remembers the pattern.

The extraction model can change. Your review process does not. Map a vendor column or correct a field once. Layout memory can reuse that structure on a later document while new values still come from the new source.

01

Reuse the fields you corrected.

Rename a field or map a table column during review. Dynamite Docs saves the layout pattern and applies that structure to future files from that vendor. New values still come from each document.

Common questions about document extraction

Find details about supported files, review, provider choices and plan limits.

What is AI document extraction?

AI document extraction turns the text, fields, and table rows in a document into structured data. Dynamite Docs displays the result beside the source so you can check names, dates, amounts, and line items before exporting.

Can I export extracted data to Excel, CSV, or JSON?

Yes. Sign up for a free account to download reviewed results as Excel, CSV, or JSON. You can also connect Google Sheets and push an extraction to a spreadsheet. Check totals and missing rows against the source before using the export.

Who is Dynamite Docs for?

Accountants, bookkeepers, small business owners, finance teams, operations managers, and freelancers who spend hours every week typing numbers from invoices, receipts, and statements into spreadsheets.

How is this different from extracting data in an AI chat?

General AI chat windows are not built for accounting workflows. They lack side-by-side visual PDF validation, cell-level confidence scores, reusable layout memory, multi-page batch processing, one-click Google Sheets sync, and automated API webhooks. Dynamite Docs keeps source files and structured tables in one review workspace.

Do I need to create templates or train a model?

No. Dynamite Docs proposes fields and rows from the document layout. When you confirm a column name or correct a field during review, the saved pattern can guide later files with the same layout.

What types of documents can it read?

The extraction route accepts single- and multi-page PDFs, scanned documents, receipt photos, Word files, spreadsheets, presentations, and email files. Skew, blur, glare, compression, and complex tables can reduce accuracy, so compare the result with the source.

What file formats can I upload?

You can upload PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, TIFF, AVIF, Word (.docx/.doc), Excel (.xlsx/.xls), PowerPoint (.pptx/.ppt), and raw email files (.eml). Your library supports PDF, PNG, JPG, WEBP, TIFF, and AVIF.

Can I email invoices directly to my account?

Yes. Pro and Scale plans include a private inbound email address. Forward a supported attachment, then review the resulting file and extraction in the workspace.

Is there an API or webhooks for automation?

Yes. On Starter and above, you can use API tokens to submit documents, fetch extracted data, and trigger webhooks whenever an extraction finishes. You can also export directly to Google Sheets.

How much does it cost to process documents?

Hosted processing uses a monthly page allowance. Free and Starter BYOK processing shares that allowance; Pro and Scale include unlimited BYOK processing with your own provider key. Provider charges and limits still apply. There are zero automatic overage charges.

What happens when the AI gets a number wrong?

Review confidence scores and compare flagged values with the original document side-by-side. Edit any mistakes directly in the table before exporting. Saved layout patterns remember your column mapping for future files.

Where is my document data processed?

Hosted and own-key runs send document content to the selected provider. Saved provider keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Free originals stay in browser storage. Starter, Pro, and Scale can use the signed local Ollama companion for model inference on the computer.

Can I use my own AI provider keys?

Yes. Every signed-in plan can connect supported provider keys or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Free and Starter own-key processing shares the monthly PE allowance; Pro and Scale own-key runs cost 0 PE. The provider bills its own usage and applies its own limits.

Can I process documents on my local computer?

Yes. Starter, Pro, and Scale include the signed Ollama companion for model inference on your computer. It uses authenticated loopback routes. Pair it with browser-only file storage when the document should not be sent to an external model provider.

A note from the founder

Why we built Dynamite Docs

We kept seeing the same gap: raw OCR returned text, fixed templates needed maintenance, and one-off chat answers still had to be copied into a spreadsheet.

The missing workflow was source review. Someone needed to see the document beside editable fields and rows, correct mistakes, and keep the accepted structure for the next similar file.

That is the job Dynamite Docs is built around. It proposes fields and tables, keeps the source visible, saves confirmed corrections as patterns, and exports the result a reviewer accepted.

The product supports one-file trials, recurring batches, hosted or own-key providers, local Ollama inference, and delivery through spreadsheets, APIs, and webhooks.
